Former ANKLA Singer Explains Decision To Leave Band

March 23, 2008

Former ANKLA vocalist Ikaro Stafford has issued the following update:

"I know a lot of you have been wondering what I have been up to, so I decided it was time to give everyone an update!

"First regarding ANKLA, after almost seven years and lots of hard work, I had to make the hard decision to leave the band, I put my heart and soul into ANKLA, but at this time I felt it was the right thing to do. Without going in to many details, the last eight months on the road have been hard, and sometimes in hard times you see how some people really are and I just didn't agree with some of the decisions being made for the band. That being said, I want to let everyone know that I'm working on a couple of new projects right now, one with Pepe and Tony from ANKLA, and guitar player Eddie (from ONESELF) we have been rehearsing together and we have come up with a really killer sound with this project, it sounds like a car crash between metal and southern rock! Once we get something recorded we will update everyone.

"The other project is a band with the Brazilian drummer Fabricio Ravelli from the '80s band HIRAX, and also Paulo Guerra from FLATLINE. The band is called IMBYRA. Fabricio approached me last week about going in to cut vocals for the album, and after hearing the songs, I was very excited! Amazing stuff; thrash with a little Brazilian influence and killer melodic parts. I will be recording the vocals next week sometime, and we should have something ready real soon for all to hear!"
